I consider myself a results-oriented business professional leader, manager, supervisor, consultant, mentor, and coach with experience from the military, small business, nonprofits.  Currently the President of Crosscutter Enterprises, providing business management consulting services and a Strategy and Planning Director for United Services Automobile Association (USAA).

In USAA, I did a year and a half as the Practice Lead for Process Excellence (PX). In that role I was the subject matter expert for all things PX and drove the program’s vision of “A Culture of Continuous Improvement Owned by Engaged Employees.” Before that, for three years, I assisted USAA with the establishment of end-to-end Enterprise Document Management. We created a Document Management Maturity Model that is now in the patent process.

I retired from the Air Force in July 2008 and worked with Booz Allen Hamilton from October 2008 to December 2011 and also did pro bono consulting through my own company, Crosscutter Enterprises during this time.  I led large and small key strategic transformations and mergers.  I have extensive experience in the areas of change, strategic planning, process improvement, strategic communication and marketing, strategic human capital and resource management, education and training, facilitation, organizational design and development, modeling and simulation, financial and budget analysis, activity based costing and management, quality management, competitive sourcing and privatization, leadership development, and business development.  I am also an accomplished facilitator and communicator and possess a wide variety of information technology skills.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Quality Systems Management from National Graduate School and I am an adjunct faculty member with them.  I have a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from Smarter Solutions, a Master’s- level certification as a Change Management Advanced Practitioner from Georgetown University, and Change Management certification from Prosci.  I am a current Doctoral student with Walden University in the field of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and expect to graduate by the end of 2017.

I have over twenty five years progressive experience as a CEO/President of several nonprofit organizations ranging in size from 156 to over 18,000 members here stateside as well as in Europe.  In the Air Force, my last effort was as a director-level military program manager for a $50K program, affecting 8,000+ personnel at 77 locations around the world.  In total, my military and nonprofit program and project management experience impacted as much as over 120 locations and over 120,000 personnel.  I have selected, led, managed, mentored, supervised, developed, and motivated well over 1,000 military and nonprofit personnel over the past 25 years.

For those who know the Air Force, I was in the Security (Police) Forces for ten years and then retrained to Manpower and (Quality) Organization and was in that career field for eleven years.  Bases stationed were Carswell AFB (six years), Vandenberg AFB (two years), Turkey (one year), Ramstein AB (six years), and here in San Antonio at Lackland AFB (six years).
