As the President and Publisher, I worked with Lisa Pietsch (Managing Editor and Marketing Manager) and we founded SAXtreme Magazine.

The Mission of SAXtreme Magazine was to promote an active, fun, healthy, and adventurous lifestyle in and around San Antonio TX. This includes indoor and outdoor activities covering hunting, fishing, sports, adventure, fitness, and health.  In every issue of our magazine, you would find interesting and captivating articles on each of these areas in and around San Antonio and the South Texas area.

When I left Booz | Allen | Hamilton and went to work for USAA, I put the magazine and company on hold.  Both Lisa and I were pursuing other areas of interest and it was best to put things on hold.

Thanks Andy. Yes, by reading the article on the Mayor’s Fitness Council, you can see this is very important and it has been a brain child of mine for a few years now…I Finally found someone crazy enough to help me. Check out the calendar on the website ( You will find it to be the most comprehensive source for active and healthy events in the city. We hope to expand on it to be a searchable calendar by the six areas covered in the magazine and then build an iPhone and Android app for it. Our other goal is to take the magazine bilingual and we’ll be looking for someone who can fully translate the magazine every other month for us. Big and ambitious plans for a nonprofit, huh?
